User Manual
A Silversplint is a medical device used to support and stabilise joints, thereby relieving pain and preventing aggravation.
Silversplints are meant to be worn during the day. Do you wish to wear them during the night? Consult with your Medical Professional first.
Anatomical changes
Your fingers and/or hands may increase in volume due to heat or physical activity. This can make your splints feel tighter. In that case, remove them carefully, using soap or hand cream if necessary. Cool your hand with water and rest for a while. Does the swelling remain? Contact your Medical Professional.
Work, tasks & activities
Heavy work may cause the splint to deform. Be careful when doing this; safety comes first. Feel for yourself whether you have more grip with or without wearing a splint. With rotating or moving objects (i.e. machines), always take off your splint.
Warranty
We Design has filed its general terms and conditions with the Chamber of Commerce. We Design complies with MDR (EU) 2017/745 and is ISO 13485 certified.
Responsibility
We Design is not responsible for the choice of model and cannot be held liable for any consequences arising from wearing the splints.
Build up slowly
It is recommended to build up wearing the Silversplints slowly; for example, add 1 hour of wearing them every day. That way, you can get used to them. At first, wearing the splints may cause some pressure sores, especially during daily tasks or work. A red spot on the skin is fine, as long as it goes away within half an hour after you take off the splints. If not, contact your Medical Professional.
Numbness
If you experience a 'numb' or tingling feeling, the splint may be pressuring a nerve. Take off the splint and contact your Medical Professional.
Report
If you have any questions or a complaint, please report it to your Medical Professional.
Heat
Silver can get hot; do not place a splint in direct sunlight or on a hot stove or other heat sources. Always take off a hot splint immediately.
Driving
It is recommended not to drive a car while wearing splints. You can consult the local driving authorities or your insurance provider on whether you are allowed to drive.
Allergy
The We Design Silversplints are made from a silver and copper alloy. Allergy to these metals is very rare. In case of irritation (redness and/or itching), remove your splints and contact your Medical Professional. Silversplints to which soldering has been applied also contain a small amount of zinc, only at the point of soldering.
Cleaning
Silversplints can be cleaned with lukewarm water and green soap. Afterwards, rinse thoroughly. For hard-to-reach areas, use a soft toothbrush. To polish the silver, use the silver polishing cloth provided with your Silversplints.
Report
If you have any questions or a complaint, please report it to your Medical Professional.
The model number of your Silversplint(s) can be found on the Declaration of Conformity (DoC).
