FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How to maintain the WE silversplints?
Just as normal jewellery those rings need periodic cleaning with silver polish. Toothpaste with a mild abrasive component will also function very well. Rinsing the ring regularly is a must to avoid a building up cosmetic creams, detergents, wax and soap… these small particles can cause skin irritation.

When to use a gold ring instead of a silver one?
Some people have an allergic reaction on silver even sterling silver, which is an hypoallergenic metal, used in the WE silversplints.
Peoples working with their hands in contact with chemicals like swimmingpool instructors, hairdressers, photographers and cooks.
Some people simply like gold better than silver. It must be mentioned that gold is slightly stronger than silver.

What kind of adjustments can be done on the patient?
As sterling silver is quiet malleable small adjustments can be done without damaging the splint. The fit of the splint can be loosened or tightened up by gently squeezing the rings together or spreading apart.
When one ring is a little bid to broad it can gently be squeezed. Be careful a tiny little adjustment is often enough.

Allergy
The WE silversplintrings are made from sterling silver and doesn’t contain nickel. Thus the chance for allergic reactions is minimal. If however the patient is allergic for silver it’s possible to make the ring in gold.
